NORAD’s Tracking Me Again!

December 22nd, 2008 by MIX 105.1 Blogging Idol

Hello boys and girls!  This will probably be my last post here on the ol’ Sunny Santa Blog before Christmas.  I just wanted to let you know that the good folks at NORAD are once again going to be keeping track of me as I make my rounds this year.  Here’s a little capsule video summarizing last year’s excursion:

Be sure to visit the NORAD Santa site for all kinds of fun things.  They even have a special super-duper detector thingy keeping track of all of the shops up at the North Pole to decipher which one is currently the busiest.  Believe me, they’re all bustling with all kinds of holiday goodness right at the moment.

It’s now one day, 12 hours and 17 minutes until I’ll be making my way to you!

Been Busy Up Here, But We Know What You Want!

elmo250.jpgHello boys and girls!  Sorry I haven’t written in a while, but we have been working day and night getting ready to make our deliveries in another two weeks.

We’ve received tons and tons of letters and special requests this year, but just thought I’d tip you off to what seem to be the most requested toys this holiday season.  I’ll count ‘em down from number 10.

10.  Barbie iDesign- Seems like lots of little girls, and some big girls too, just love this way to design all of Barbie’s wardrobe, either just using the cards that come with it, or popping a CD-ROM into the computer.

9.  VTech V-Motion- The kiddies between 3 and 7 just love this learning gaming system which uses a wireless controller that is motion sensitive. Kids play by moving the controller around, not simply pushing buttons.  It’s like a Wii for the tots.

8.  Nerf Gun-  Hasbro’s Nerf has made a big comeback with the Nerf N-Strike series of toy guns which shoot the foam filled ammo.

7.  Bakugan- Based on the Japanese anime series Bakugan Battle Warriors, Bakugan comes uses metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded miniature figures.

6.  Elmo Live-  Once again, Elmo is a big hit this year with Elmo Live.  This Elmo sits, speaks, stands and waves.

5.  LEGO Blocks-  They’ve been around forever but they’re just as popular today as they were when they were first created.

4.  XBox 360-  The XBox is still a popular video game system, but not quite as much requested as number one on our list.

3.   Hannah Montana items-  The little girls love their Hannah Montana, from clothes to action figures.

2.   Video games-  If you have a video gaming system, or you’re just getting one for the first time, you definitely need plenty of video games and they are right up at the top of the list of requests.

1.  Nintendo Wii- This action packed gaming system has climbed to the top of the list, and we’re planning on delivering a record number of them this year!

Is there something you’re hoping to receive that you didn’t see on the list?  Then make sure you write in using the comments below and let me know what you want!  I don’t want to miss out on anything!

No Gift Is Too Small

santawhomeless.jpgHello again! I just want to let you know that I was thrilled when I logged onto the Sunny 105.9 website today to write in my blog to see that they have an incredible community service movement going on right now that they have called No Gift Is Too Small.

Even though I mainly work to fulfill the needs of children at Christmas time, many of whom are homeless, there are many adults who are also greatly in need and the community service organizations featured in the No Gift Is Too Small program are all valuable groups serving the community the whole year round.

Please join me in making a contribution to one of these organizations. Whatever you’re able to provide. Remember…no gift is too small!

Busy Weekend!

November 23rd, 2008 by MIX 105.1 Blogging Idol

Hello boys and girls in Sunnyland! I just have to tell you, we’ve had a VERY busy weekend up here at the North Pole. I know the 25th of December is over a month away, but you would not believe how many of you have been exceptionally good this year and will be expecting a visit from us.

Nibble-nob, my chief elf this year, is doing a GREAT job of keeping things on track and making sure that we remain on schedule.

All of my elfs and myself and Mrs. Claus got a big kick out of going to the Orlando Radio Holidays site and seeing that we were there as well. We love the publicity. We also enjoyed watching “wanna-be” elf Bobby Smith (he’s not my favorite, in fact he’s not even a real elf) donning the elfen apparel and “disco-ing down.” Mrs. Claus just wanted to pinch his rosy little cheeks.

We’ve been pulling out our favorite holiday DVDs while we work and will share them with you as we continue to blog for you up until Christmas. One of our all-time favorites is the Pee-Wee Herman Special. Take a look below and remember….watch your Ps and Qs and you’ll surely get a visit from me!

Greetings From The North Pole!

santa300.jpgHello boys and girls! Santa Claus here. I can’t tell you how excited I am that Sunny 105.9 in Orlando, Florida has asked me to write a little something from time to time on their festive website!

I’m also thrilled that they are playing non-stop holiday favorites throughout the season. I DO love Orlando’s Greatest Hits, but for personal reasons, Orlando’s Greatest HOLIDAY Hits are my all-time favorites.

Here are just a few of my favorites I’ve heard since I’ve been listening on Mrs. Claus’ computer:

Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses (Although it reminds me of all the work we have to do still!)

Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt (I remember her when she was just a girl)

And Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree by little Brenda Lee

I’ll be checking in with you when I get a break, but we’re very busy at the North Pole this time of the year.

And make sure you leave a comment below. Give me your wish list or just say hi! I’d love to hear from all of the boys and girls in the Orlando area. I’m even thinking about making a trip to sunny Florida as soon as the holiday season winds down.

Ho…ho…ho! Remember….I’m making a list and checking it twice….so make sure you’re not naughty and awfully nice!

Love,

Santa
